Inorganic Chemicals Business Unit

The Inorganic Chemicals Business Unit consists of three groups: the Inorganic Raw Materials Group, the Advanced Inorganic Materials Group, and the Inorganic Bulk Group.
We will enhance our ability to propose and create new value by encouraging the Unit to share strategies with the Chemical Solutions Group of Sumitomo Corporation and to pursue collaboration with each business unit of Sumitomo Shoji Chemicals.

    The Inorganic Raw Materials Group

    The Inorganic Raw Materials Group deals in raw materials for glass and ceramics, mainly soda ash and boron compounds (boric acid, borax, etc.) derived from overseas natural minerals, which have a low environmental impact when manufactured, and raw materials for detergents and bath salts (sodium sesquicarbonate, etc.).

  • The Advanced Inorganic Materials Group

    The Advanced Inorganic Materials Group

    The Advanced Inorganic Materials Group deals in highly functional inorganic materials used in advanced industries, such as semiconductors and permanent magnets, and environmental technologies (high purity quartz, rare earths, DPF materials, high purity SiC, titanium raw materials, rare metals, etc.).

  • The Inorganic Bulk Group

    The Inorganic Bulk Group

    The Inorganic Bulk Group is developing markets around the world for slag, gypsum, and sulfur, which are byproducts of the nonferrous metal smelting industry, and is also focusing on fertilizer raw materials that support food production, such as ammonia and phosphate rock.
