Sumitomo Shoji Chemicals Co., Ltd. (“the Company”) absorbed the plastics business (synthetic resins) handled by both Nagoya Plastics Team and Hiroshima Chemicals, Plastics & Fuel Team, Petrochemicals Dept. Basic Chemicals & Electronics Division, Sumitomo Corporation, as of the effective date, April 1, 2018. The absorbed business starts as Nagoya Plastics Group and Hiroshima Chemicals Group of the Company.

Through this absorption, the company aims to boost the corporate value of Sumitomo Corporation Group by enhancing proposal capabilities to clients and business performance. This transferred business will bring commercial opportunities to expand new customer contacts and products, especially in the field of automobiles.
