The Green Chemicals Business Unit contributes to the development of a circular economy and carbon neutral society through new value creation that leverages the chemical knowledge cultivated by the company as a chemical trading company, based on the business foundation of the Sumitomo Corporation Group, including its integrated corporate strength, global network, and customers.
Under the structure of two groups (the Sustainable Materials Group and the Sustainable Plastics Group), the Green Chemical Business Unit deals in biomass-derived organic chemicals, recycled organic and inorganic chemicals, plastic alternative materials, recycled plastics, bioplastics, and a wide range of related chemical products to meet the needs of customers and partners.
The Green Chemical Business Unit will work closely with the Chemical Solutions Group of Sumitomo Corporation and each Business Unit of Sumitomo Shoji Chemicals, Co., Ltd. to create new value and businesses that contribute to reducing global environmental impact.
